Student Code of Conduct Dress Code
- IDs must be worn at all times.
- All students must wear: appropriate solid white tops; appropriate KP wear including shirts issued by clubs and extracurricular activities are on selected days only, as announced by the Administration.(SLC, ASM, sports shirts, etc.)All students must wear solid dark blue pants or skirts or dark blue shorts of knee length.
- No visible color undershirt may be worn under uniform top.
- During cold weather, sweatshirts or sweaters may be worn as long as they adhere to the dress code. Hooded clothing is not allowed.
- Tops should cover belt when hands are up or student is bending over. All clothing should be loose fitting.
- Top neckline must be appropriate for school. Spaghetti straps are not allowed.
- Belts must be a solid color: black, brown, dark blue, gray or white. Big buckles will not be allowed.
- Shoes must be solid (including the shoe sole) black, brown or white with same color shoestrings.
- Link chains hanging around your waist or pockets will not be permitted.
- Pajama pants, sweat pants, flip-flops, and house slippers are not allowed.
Cell Phone/Electronic Device Policy – OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND!
Cell phones and other electronic devices must be turned off and stored in a pocket, purse or book bag prior to entering the building. They may NOT be used to make calls, text message or use as a calculator. At no time can a cell phone be used in the building. Students can always use our KPHS phones for emergencies, with permission. MP3s and iPods are allowed in the lunchroom only.
Using cell phones to photograph or make videos of other students or adults on school grounds may be considered an invasion of privacy that will be dealt with severely.
- Any violations of these policies will result in disciplinary action as they constitute a violation to the Chicago Public Schools Student Code of Conduct.
